Singer: Mona Chase

Jaye Kaye recently posted some pics of the lovely and talented Mona Chase. Here are a couple of videos of her singing:

Singer: Marlon Alarm

As Marlon sings, "long blonde hair and model thin."

Here's a lovely photo:

Singer and Dancer: Sarah Mitch

Sarah Mitchigan sings "Imagine" in the middle of this video. The last dance sequence reveals some of her other talents.

Singer: Honey Mahogany

Honey is a former contestant on Rupaul's Drag Race. There are many videos of her singing on youtube, including this one:

Willam: A Little Bit Country?

Drag Idol?

I started this blog with the idea that some talented and beautiful cover gurlz could join together and form a gurl group. Over the years, I've highlighted some gurl groups that now entertain audiences worldwide.

Perhaps it is time to change the theme? Or at least think about additional possibilities?

How about a version of American Idol featuring cover gurlz? Week-to-week, talented singers would sing songs and compete as they do on the popular television series. Most of the singers I've blogged about here would make great contestants.

For instance, though most famous as a Britney Spears impersonator (primarily as a dancer and look-a-like), Derrick Barry has been singing live for a number of years now. Here's a cover of "Ooh La La" from August 2013:

Singer: Vice Ganda

Vice Ganda is a popular entertainer in the Philippines -- comic, singer, actor, host, etc. Vice is a multi-talented star.

As a singer, Vice has the potential to be a terrific member of the Cover Gurlz. Here's a video of the star singing in a feminine voice (Vice also sings male parts):

Vice commonly sings while dressed like a Cover Gurl, though not every word is English.

Now, look here to see some terrific pics of Vice looking like a fashion model or pop superstar. I'm going to include a few from Flickr, but several of those linked photos from a recent concert are far superior.

OK, one more video of Vice spoofing beauty pageants with a tall model from Texas, Georgina Wilson.

Vlossom

Here's a picture of this "girl band of men":

桜塚やっくん率いる美女♂ (According to Google translate, that phrase is "Beauty ♂ led by Mr. Ya~tsu Sakurazuka").

Keyboards: Vanity Von Glow

It's been two and a half years since I blogged about Vanity Von Glow in this space. Clearly, she's been polishing her act. Youtube has a great collection of her playing keyboards and singing to various pop songs.

I like her voice in this one:

And here is a pic of her while she is being interviewed:

Guitarist: Hizaki

Hizaki is a Japanese visual kei musician (guitarist). Here's a typical photo, though you can find a wide assortment on the web:

And this video features a guitar solo -- feel free to skip to about 1:25.

Singer: Sarah Mitch

Supreme Fabulettes

[October 2018 update: Most of the original links in this post now fail to work. I reposted some videos and changed the bio links. The videos are not the originals.]

The Supreme Fabulettes are a new supergroup from the UK. They have their own webpage (of course) and YouTube channel.

Basically, the group is almost everything I would want the Cover Gurlz to be:

The Supreme Fabulettes - Miss Vicki Vivacious, Miss Maddison Lee and Miss Vanilla Lush - have been acclaimed for combining slick choreography, amazing vocal harmonies, stunning couture outfits and signature Glee-style song mash-ups of classic 1960s hits and contemporary songs by likes of The Supremes, The Andrews Sisters, Adele, Alison Moyet and Beyonce among many others.

I hope you like this video  (or this one):

Here they are performing live on stage:
