Singer: Shakiro

Jonathan Trujillo on the Colombian "Got Talent" program. There are a number of videos on youtube, tracking Shakiro's progress through the competition.

Augusto Schuster as Adele - Rolling in the deep - Tu cara me suena

Well, this is a remarkable performance:

Video: FF on TV

I'm not sure who FF is in Portugal, but he could be a Cover Gurl.

Shirley Bassey impersonation:

Singer: Velma Celli

Don't know much about Velma Celli yet, but you can find many videos of her on youtube. This shows off her voice:

Singer: Madox

Madox is a young Polish singer, who apparently performed in a televised singing competition along the lines of "Got Talent." Madox has a feminine voice, a lean build, and a clear interest in the feminine world. Sounds perfect for the Cover Gurlz.

Here's a video of Madox singing "On and On" in English, though it is easy to find other English language songs too. This one is not in HD, but it's not bad:

For an interesting pictorial spread, see this "Bridgitte Bardot" spread.

This is the video for "High on You."

Singer: Mona Chase

Jaye Kaye recently posted some pics of the lovely and talented Mona Chase. Here are a couple of videos of her singing:

Singer: Marlon Alarm

As Marlon sings, "long blonde hair and model thin."

Here's a lovely photo:

Singer and Dancer: Sarah Mitch

Sarah Mitchigan sings "Imagine" in the middle of this video. The last dance sequence reveals some of her other talents.

Singer: Honey Mahogany

Honey is a former contestant on Rupaul's Drag Race. There are many videos of her singing on youtube, including this one:

Willam: A Little Bit Country?

Drag Idol?

I started this blog with the idea that some talented and beautiful cover gurlz could join together and form a gurl group. Over the years, I've highlighted some gurl groups that now entertain audiences worldwide.

Perhaps it is time to change the theme? Or at least think about additional possibilities?

How about a version of American Idol featuring cover gurlz? Week-to-week, talented singers would sing songs and compete as they do on the popular television series. Most of the singers I've blogged about here would make great contestants.

For instance, though most famous as a Britney Spears impersonator (primarily as a dancer and look-a-like), Derrick Barry has been singing live for a number of years now. Here's a cover of "Ooh La La" from August 2013:

Singer: Vice Ganda

Vice Ganda is a popular entertainer in the Philippines -- comic, singer, actor, host, etc. Vice is a multi-talented star.

As a singer, Vice has the potential to be a terrific member of the Cover Gurlz. Here's a video of the star singing in a feminine voice (Vice also sings male parts):

Vice commonly sings while dressed like a Cover Gurl, though not every word is English.

Now, look here to see some terrific pics of Vice looking like a fashion model or pop superstar. I'm going to include a few from Flickr, but several of those linked photos from a recent concert are far superior.

OK, one more video of Vice spoofing beauty pageants with a tall model from Texas, Georgina Wilson.
